Satisfied and skilled teachers are effective teachers. The Board of Trustees at Glen Taylor is very conscious that to obtain optimum teaching standards, it is necessary to provide full support for its staff. As the professional development programmes at Glen Taylor School include:
- Financial support for the payment of fees for teachers taking ADQUAL university etc. papers.
- Full financial support for courses related to personal professional development objectives.
- A whole staff professional development programme based on areas where there is a specific curriculum focus.
Further support is provided through the Tamaki Achievement Pathways initiative. This is a government funded scheme that provides significant support to assist schools with literacy and numeracy programmes to ensure pupils in these schools are able to achieve standards equal to the national average. In addition, Boards of Trustees will receive support in financial management and governance. This is an extremely exciting development that will be most beneficial to the staff and schools involved.
